In the midst of the Canadian winter season, the boom of popularity and interest of tennis escalated during the pandemic – particularly in the Maritimes. When Quebec was forgoing a curfew and stay-at-home order in the months of January – April 2021, the Atlantic bubble was open for all to play freely. No restrictions to the number of players on the court, lengthening the hours of operation at the club, and the demand of coaches and staff required to uphold the demand was at an ultimate high for the Atlantic Tennis Centre in Halifax.
Running programs of Ladies 4.0 Doubles League, Try Tennis, Feeding Frenzy, Junior Competitive programs, evening group sessions to Canada Games training — it was one heck of a hit to be out there during this time. Here’s a glance of the 3-month stint.
In part of being a team at the Centre, it was a great pleasure to take the lead of doubles training for the Canada Games team. Competitive to be on the team, hard workers, and at the same time friends off the court. Here are some videos of the trainings, and coaching sessions throughout the season.
