In the efforts of taking a leap forward, ways that affect us is how we can help or make a difference not only for ourselves, however importantly, also for others? Having been amazed at the tireless efforts and success of all those involved in Tennis for All Uganda (TFAU) and the impact they are making for the children and their families in the community, it’s with a brave heart to take some action. And a little will go a long way.

As you can probably guess, there are very minimal opportunities for the players to play, and going a little further, more so playing in tournaments. One; being the amount of resources, and two; travel is required for these players to get out of the community. For these kids, it comes down to having the basics. And almost all of the children, the thing they look forward to when arriving at the centre, they look to compete and play against each other in the game.

To break it down:

There are over 200 children aged 3 – 18 yrs old in TFAU A program designed for deaf children in teaching life lessons through tennis programming 90% of the players come from underprivileged families living off less than $1 a day Courts are made of dirt/clay with chalk lines and playing with donated items of equipment

The mission is dedicated exclusively in raising awareness and funding for TFAU.

Will also be traveling mid-November to the end of December 2021, to share the knowledge of coaching to the leaders of the organization (given the situation is a go for airlines and government officials). Along with this, I will be sending approx 50lbs of donated items including:

Progressive tennis balls Used/New Rackets Strings Grips Any other tennis items

Thank you all in your consideration to contribute to the mission and your support along the way. See you on the other side!
