I say we, as this has felt as though you are on board helping lug around 140lbs items to distribute to nearly over 200 children of Tennis For All Uganda — and with a huge smile!
With this finally all packed, jumping over a couple hurdles at the airport, and arriving in Qatar with some eye opening news in Kampala this morning, you will find your contribution has help packed nearly 50 rackets new and used, a new mini-net, a case of green progressive tennis balls, 6 pairs of shoes, 30 grips, 170 hats, toothpaste, toothbrushes, sports clothing, many many school supplies along with other bags to these wonderful group of kids we have not even met yet. And this is just the start.
Initially the outreach seemed to be something to help escape winter – in which the response, the cause, and more importantly your support and kindness has undeniably made this MISSION POSSIBLE and TRANSFORMATIONAL.
Just to think that this group is going to be receiving and training with spanking new equipment and supplies. Ahh, how some things in life that once existed, disappear knowing that most of these kids have not seen anything else other than this community or city.
If swinging a racket, getting fitter mentally and physically through this sport is driving yours and their competitive side in a healthy way and learning skills along the way, I’m sure we will find more things in common as the year progresses.
